Celebrity Sighting in Traverse City.....

So there I was just enjoying a delicious pasty at Cousin Jennys...when what to my wondering eyes should appear...None other than Mr. Sweetin to the Oldies...RICHARD SIMMONS. No Shit. In person..in little old traverse city! He told me that he hasn't had a pasty in 30 years and asked me what kind I had. I told him. Then he asked me what was in it. After I told him he made the sign of the cross and said "God help me." So that is my star struck moment for the day....Yeah eat your heart out san fran....you think your so cool...well we have Richard Simmons!

My girls came to visit......

This weekend I had some lovely ladies to entertain. Tash...Nora's mother...and Nora all made the treck to Cumberland Drive......We truly capped off the chick fest with Haggen Das and some Vino! So due to some unfortuate events...Jessie and Erin made their way back to Michigan. Kacey, Tasha, Nora and I took the opportunity to meet then in Grand Rapids for a little reunion. It was Nora's first Girl Road Trip! It was so great to see the girls and so sad to see them leave! Until we meet again......Some more photos.....

The Trout Festival

In true Kalkaska Alumni fashion we made it out to the Trout Festival over the weekend. Danyle decided that he was going to run in the trout run. After a 10 year retirement he came out of it to finish the 5k in just over 21 minutes. Not too bad. I caught a really bad cold and a killer bargain on a squirrel feeder at the Kalkaska Craft Show. Of course we had to stop at the carnival. And of course they were hundreds of people there in the 40 degree temps, with no coats on their kids and pockets full of $15 sheets of tickets. There were also some pygmy goats there that may have helped with my convincing of Adam that we need one!
