Matt was diligent in his efforts this past week to render another gallon of syrup from the multiple gallons of sap we collected. He was a trooper, getting up every few hours to add more wood to the fire. As a results...some of the most delicious syrup you have ever tasted. It looks as though we will have enough sap to do one more boil. A very special shout out to matt and all his hard work.....

Adam's Accident
SORRY HAD TO TAKE PICTURE DOWN!!!!!!!
So, some of you may have heard and some may have not but Adam took quite a little spill last month. The cause is still unknown but it is suspected that it was a combination of chemical exposure to parts cleaner that caused him to collapse. Pretty scary. It was the first time I have ever had to call 911 and hopefully the last. So he may be mad at me for posting this picture, but I feel it is pretty telling as to how much damage a hardwood floor can do to a person. A broken nose, two stiches in his eye brow, four in the inside of his mouth, three on the outside and a cracked crown. His nose is stright now and he can resume his modeling career. Thank goodness!
Back Yard Sugaring
So, for valentines day Adam and I decided to take a class on how to make Maple Syrup. Yes, Please stifle your laughter. But it was fun and a much better way to spend the day vs a ton of wasted money on flowers and dinner. Besides we knew it would later be an opportunity to spend time together. Last weekend we got our chance. We were able to collect enough sap to have our first boil. Adam and his dad later went on to collect nearly 55 gallons of sap which yielded 1.25 gallons of delicious maple syrup. We will be at it again this weekend, provided the weather cooperates. It has been a great way to experience the changing of the seasons and of course to eat pancakes! Here are some pictures.....

Amara's 5th Birthday
Wow....All this pressure to keep up on these posts...I had no idea people actually read these. Anyway...here are some much delayed pictures of Amara's birthday party. The guest of honor requested a homemade macaroni and cheese dinner with sweet potato french fries and a beautiful Tinker Bell cake for dessert. She sure is getting big....just as long as we get a little time before we aren't cool enough to hang out with anymore. Well maybe some of us are already there...Adam! Ha...Ha...We love spending every waking moment captivated by this curly little firecracker......
