Meran-da-pa-looza comes to an end.....

Well this weekend capped off my week long birthday celebration. Friday Adam took myself and his parents out to Red Ginger for my Birthday. Saturday morning I went out to eat with Amanda James and we went to the Psychic fair where I got a great massage. Then we spent the day shopping and walking around downtown TC. Later in the evening my mom and ray took us out to the Wild Pony Saloon for burgers and followed that up with an evening of Wii. I totally dominated the bowling with an amazing 177. I also struck Danyle out too many times to count with my 97 mph fast ball. My arms are still sore this morning. Then yesterday we went over to the Sohns for a delicious steak dinner. I finished my wood project and got back to my house and cozy in my bed around 11:30. I am kind of glad I only have one birthday a year! Thank you to everyone who made my 28 so wonderful.

You Say its your Birthday...Neer..Neer..Neer

Yup...28 today! I love how older people try to make you feel old on your birthday...no matter how young you may be. I recieved my usual adult birthday cards...Lets see one from the chiropractor...one from Art van with a special coupon...one from my dentist with an appointment reminder and an additional coupon from Gap. That is when you start to feel old. But I did get the best gift this morning in an email from Kace....She made my whole day! So in 28 years what have I learned....If I am truly looking for a reason as to why I am here...I don't have to look any further than my yahoo inbox, my home at 1851 Cumberland drive, Montana, California and Kingsley. I am here with many of you....because of many of you..and for many of you....Life just sort of happens and I am so fortunate that so many of you happened into my life.

How much is that Birdie in the Window?

My squirrel has encountered some competition. Aparently the word is out that delicious vitals are at my window every morning. So far last week my squirrel had sunflower seeds on Monday, pancakes on Tuesday, peanuts on Wednesday, pistachios on Thursday and then just leftovers on Friday. This morning a little birdie decided to pick up the last of the pancakes...the squirrel watched in anger!

Kacey's Big 29

Kacey Turned 29 on Saturday...Geez an Old Lady already. I can only hope I can say that I have accomplished so much at 29...A loving husband...a beautiful daughter oh and two wonderful felines.......Happy Birthday Kace!

Our Sushi Class

For my birthday present from last year adam bought me Sushi classes. We finally were able to take them and had a great time. We are excited to try a little sushi party ourselves. I am sure I could give Sushi master Bill Sohn a run for his money. I am going to make my our own pickled ginger this weekend which has such an amazing flavor. Nothing like the pink shards we are use to eating. The class was up at Chateau Chantal and it was a beautiful day out on the peninsula....

Even the animals are sick of the snow.....

Come on Sunshine........If California would quit hogging all of it maybe we could get rid of the damn snow. Our cats are going a little stir crazy.Even they want to see warmer days...

My Squirrel Journal....

Chapter 1: I return home from a long day of work to discover that grandma has sent me yet another intriguing present. Upon opening the box I discover an entire quart size Ziplock bag of acorns. The only note is some scribbled text, in cursive of course, on the bag that says "collected in Delaware." Once and for all answering my questions about what to do while in Delaware.

Chapter 2: The acorns sat in my basement for a few months before I uncovered them in some pre-emptive spring cleaning. What the hell am I going to do with a ziplock full of acorns.

Chapter 3: After realizing what a long Michigan winter it has been I start to think about others who might be sharing my similar sentiments. Then I realize if we have had a hard winter the animals must be on the verge of starving from the long snow filled season.

Chapter 4: I decide to place the entire bad full of acorns on my window sill at work and try to make some lucky squirrels day...I also decide to spell check squirrel because I can never spell that word correctly. I also bring my camera into work and set it right at my window so I can capture the moment.

Chapter 5: I start to day dream.....Imagine the little squirrel walking along...head hanging down...can't remember where he placed his acorns...his family is starving and he doesn't know what he is going to do....Then all of a sudden...He spots something in the distance. Could it be....Is it just a mirage...No it Really Is the Motherload of acorns! He Bursts into song..."Oh happy day...oh happy day." He races home to his tree, with his cheeks full of acorns and place them all at the feet of his beautiful wife and children. They are all so happy as they join hands and dance around in a circle singing "Oh happy day." Needless to say work is slow and I have massive cabin fever.

Chapter 6: Still no squirrel....24 days and counting.

Chapter 7: Eureeka! Day 25...the forty degree weather must have drawn them out because today I made some little grey squirrels day..It went something like this....Squirrel spots acorns

Squirrel sees stranger in window but swallows his fear and decides that it is worth the risk...He can smell the acorns..

He begins his decent..terrified but conifdent that soon his troubles will be behind him

He tastes the first acorn and it is so delicious...he stuffs his mouth until he can carry no more.

Chapter 8: Lessons learned....Grandma may be the nut in our family tree....but nuts feeds squirrels and one thing this world could use less of is hungry squirrels. Oh and anything with a fluffy tail is cute...even if all my co-workers think they are ugly rats...I still think squirrels are pretty damn cute..
